How bring space alive with artwork interior design

Too often, when designing a room, artwork can be considered as the last step to add. Even if it is true in terms of practicality, artwork, when chosen thoughtfully, can be a good starting point when creating the room colour palette.
When relegating artwork to the sidelines an amazing opportunity of design is missed.
Art makes a room come to life and gives interest, can set the mood and the theme for a room.
Let’s see how to bring the space alive with artwork in this blog.

Before buying Artwork

What you need to consider before buying artwork is your current space and choose exactly where you wish to add the art. Analyse the available space and the colours. The most important consideration is the size of the artwork, it needs to be proportionate to the wall and space where you wish to hang it. Avoid adding an art piece to a room if it is too large or too small for the actual space.
Consider your home design style, what type of art will fit in your room?
Consider the style and mood you wish to create in the room and think to the artwork as an excellent framework around which you should be able to plan the rest of the room.
Also, it is important to decide, before buying an artwork, if with it you want to give a statement, to show a piece or something more low-key that will complement and balance the room. Think about the role that you want to give to the artwork.

Artwork can provide an instant colour palette

Choosing a colour palette for your new room can be one of the most difficult steps of designing your interior.
After selecting the right painting or wall hanging, you could use the colours of that piece as the inspiration for your rooms colour palette. How? Simple! Just pick out two-three colour shades that you like in the wall art and use them into your décor. Chose the dominant colour and a few additional shades to use as accents through accessories or soft furnishing.
When choosing the colours remember that they will set the mood of each room. For instance, neutral colours are considered calming so they can be perfect for bedrooms, yellow and other bright colours create a welcoming and cheerful mood so they can be added in living rooms and dining areas.

Focal Point

A focal point is the main element when creating a new room design. It is a single design element that will instantly draw the eye into space and give the viewer a sense of the overall room mood and feel.
A well-selected piece of artwork could easily be the focal point of a room. It can provide an excellent framework around which you should be able to plan the rest of the room design.

Artwork, when used properly, is that finishing element that can help pull a space together and make it fill completely. That’s why it is important, when selecting the artwork, that it will be consistent with the style of the room, if you have already chosen one, so to bring together all the room design elements.

Choose the right artwork for you

Art is subjective. What is beautiful for one person could be horrible for another. Choose the right artwork for you means that you need to be inspired by it and it needs to suit your style and what you love.
Artwork doesn’t need to be very expensive to be loved, the most important thing is that you need to feel connected and represented with a specific artwork.
